Luncheon Meeting Program: Willie Wilcox, Election of Officers, and Flu Shots
Nov 20, 2008 12:00 p.m. Our November luncheon meeting on Thursday, November 20, will feature Willie Wilcox as the speaker. She will talk about growing up in the 1940’s, the war effort, the kinds of toys she had or made, and products from that era. Using her experience gained from years of working with an auctioneer, helping plan house sales, and researching about antiques, Willie has a wealth of knowledge about what kind of things are collectible.
Bring an interesting antique that you’d like to tell us about. Or bring an antique that you own and would like to learn more about. See what Willie can tell you about it. And…be careful what you throw out or send to Goodwill-you may have a hidden treasure on your hands.
We will vote next year’s officers-President, Corresponding Secretary, and Assistant Treasurer. See page two for more information about the slate of officers. Our Community Service project for November is to collect some nonperishable items for the Center of Hope in Ravenna. You may also donate money to purchase turkeys. Open your hearts and help another family have some food to be thankful for as they celebrate their Thanksgiving dinner together.
FREE FLU SHOTS for Medicare members at our November luncheon meeting, provided by the Portage County Health Department. Please bring your Medicare identification with you. Non-Medicare members may receive an injection for $20.
FREE PNEUMONIA SHOTS for Medicare members. The cost for non-Medicare members is $45. Remember you only need a pneumonia shot every five years.
